Burberry rains on its own parade

Burberry and their weather controlling antics...WOW! First of all, I know I was only watching the live stream from my laptop and I'm sure it would have been something if I was actually present in Hyde Park, BUT still... WOW!

This season’s collection definitely speak to a younger crowd with lots stripes, bow-tie belts, owl printed t-shirts, and cropped bomber jackets. My personal fave- the trench coat! I’m sure if Christopher Bailey had his way, we will all be belting our coat next season. I sure hell will! His collection featured the classic trench made of velvet, in a dark, wine colour complemented by a bow-tie belt that cinches the waist. All of a sudden I was picturing Blair Waldorf (as you would!) on the Upper East Side, bossing her so called minions, wearing this exact outfit.

Then there was the finale... I was in awe when the a crack of thunder, and a simulated rainstorm sent water streaming down all sides of the massive marquee that housed the show. Christopher Bailey definitely knows how to deliver!

Here are some photos from the show:

Burberry definitely showed London Fashion Week who the boss is!

Saturday vintage shopping

The weekend is past and gone. And just like, it went by in the blink of an eye.

Well I would like to say that this weekend gone was more productive to me than ever before.

I finally picked up our vintage stock from our amazing supplier Rebeccka (yay!) so watch out for our online store coming out very shortly!!!

I also managed to squeeze in some vintage shopping even though I almost passed out of heat stroke.. (yes thank you Brisbane weather).

Major lesson learnt: don't underestimate the wonderful arrays of vintage accessories sold in weekend markets.

I spoke with a stall holder who told me stories about her wonderful trips in Egypt and Bali sourcing out some unique gemstones, beads and brass pendants which she uses for her one-off pieces.

What can I say, she was amazing!

I ended up buying this emerald and gold long necklace from her. (I will be posting some more photos shortly).

Here are some photos from her stall.

Welcome to our whimsical world...

Whimsical Sisters is a story of two siblings often described as polar opposites yet share the same passion for vintage, style, fashion and travel.

On one side, you’ve got a sister that is a extroverted, cook by nature and has little self control on anything sweet. She is a self-proclaimed shopaholic whose addiction in bags and shoes was seen as a slight problem by others but never by her.

On the other hand, you’ve got a sister who often is described as the brains in the family, shy and a silent achiever, but don’t be mistaken, she can surprise you when you least expect it! She knows how to indulge and is gifted with the power of self-control.

Whimsical Sisters was born from our desire to share with you all our love for fashion, style and high quality, vintage clothing that hearken back to the golden age of  glamour and fashion.

Two different sisters brought together with their common love for Fashion.

Welcome to our whimsical world … stay a while and enjoy the ride!
